Ugnė Becker (Kaunas, 1993) is a Lithuanian born artist, currently residing in Dresden. Ugnė holds a BA in Visual Communication from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
Befitting her formative background in architecture and industrial design, Ugnės unfolding practice in
illustration and animation yields works of deep
sensitivity and particular precision. With research
ranging from mediterranean mythology to marine life
and it‘s biology, Ugnės figurative drawing acts as a literary device, narrating her inquiries on identity,
agency and accountability in the face of ongoing social
and environmental crises.
